Mr. Sawikin co-founded Firebird Management in 1994 and he has been a participant in the Russian stock market since the beginning of large-scale mass privatization. Firebird manages $2.5 billion in six portfolio investment funds and two private equity funds. Firebird’s funds are among the best performing hedge funds in the world over the last ten years.

Mr. Sawikin graduated from Columbia College Magna Cum Laude in 1981 and received a J.D. from Harvard Law School (Cum Laude 1985), where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review.
